PUBLIC NOTICE

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LINCOLN COUNTY,
MISSISSIPPI, DECLARING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO BE SURPLUS PROPERTY
AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SAME

The next matter to come before the Board of Supervisors of Lincoln County, Mississippi, was the issue of the lands hereinbelow described ceasing to be used for County purposes and it being in the best interest of the County that same be sold as provided by statute.
After general discussion, on motion duly made by Supervisor Falvey and seconded by Supervisor Ferguson, the following resolution was passed:
WHEREAS, the following described property belonging to Lincoln County, Mississippi, has ceased to be used for County purposes, said property being more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
DESCRIPTION
Commencing at a Iron pin on the Southwest corner of the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 31, Township 8 North, Range 8 East, Lincoln County Mississippi; thence North 00°10’46’’ West, a distance of 1,206.91 feet; thence East, a distance of 1,353.91 feet to an Iron pln; thence South 89°50’00’’ East, a distance of 192.53 feet to an iron pin the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence North 18°48’55’’ East, a distance of 105.01 feet to an iron pin thence North 19°21’29’’ East, a distance of 163.29 feet to an iron pin; thence South 89°50’00’’ East, a distance of 50.23 feet to an iron pin on the West margin of a railroad right of way, thence along sald railroad right of way South 17’’28’52’’ West, a distance of 266.91 feet to an iron pin; thence North 89°50’00’’ West, a distance of 54.56 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
All boarings are based upon Mississippi State Plane NAD 1983 East West Zone. Sald parcel contains 0.32 acres, more or less, and located in the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, and the Southeast 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 31, Township 8 North, Range 8 East, Lincoln County Mississippi
and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County that said property be sold as provided by statute:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of Lincoln County, Mississippi, that lands hereinabove described are hereby declared to no longer be used for County purposes and said property shall be sold as provided by statute.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the property shall be sold by sealed competitive bids that shall be submitted on or before 9 a.m. on July 20 2026, to the Chancery Clerk of Lincoln County, Mississippi, with said bids to be opened at 9 a.m. on July 20, 2026, and will be awarded to the highest bidder for cash. The County will convey by quitclaim deed only such title as is vested in it.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is directed to publish this resolution at least once each week for three (3) consecutive weeks in the Daily Leader, a newspaper having a general circulation in Lincoln County, Mississippi, and with said publications to be at June 24th, July 1st, July 8th.
