PUBLIC NOTICE
OF INVITATION FOR BIDS
FOR HUNTING & FISHING RIGHTS

Notice is hereby given by the Lincoln County Board of Education that sealed bids will be received by said Board until 4:00 p.m. on the 17th day of April, 2026, in the Office of the Superintendent of Education of the Lincoln County School District at 702 Saints Trail NW, Brookhaven, MS for hunting & fishing rights on the following Sixteenth Section Public School Trust Lands situated in Lincoln County, MS, to-wit:
16-8-9 / 57 Acres
Location: Heucks Retreat Rd NE
16-8-6 103 Acres
Location: Allred Drive NW
16-8-9 35 Acres
Location: Heucks Retreat Rd NE/Gary Trl NE
The description of any of the above sixteen section lands is included in a bid packet at the Lincoln County Central Office located at 702 Saints Trail NW, Brookhaven, MS. The lease shall be for a term of five (5) years. The form of the lease has been prescribed by the Board of Education and is now on file in the Office of the Superintendent of Education, and interested parties may inspect the same during regular office hours. No dogs will be allowed for deer hunting purposes. Bid proposal forms may be obtained from the Superintendent of Education Office, located at 702 Saints Trail NW, Brookhaven, MS. Bids shall be submitted for the entire parcel. Only the annual rental shall be subject to bid. A certified check in the amount of the annual rental should be included with the bid when submitted.
Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Board of Education of Lincoln County School District and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope “A BID FOR HUNTING & FISHING LEASE @ on the above Sixteen Section.”
DEADLINE TO RECEIVE BIDS WILL BE 4:00 p.m. on April 17, 2026.
The Board of Education of Lincoln County School District will meet at the Central Office, on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 5:30 P.M. and sealed bids received pursuant to this public notice will then and there be opened and read aloud. The Board of Education of the Lincoln County School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted.
The aforesaid land is being offered for lease under the provisions of Section 29-3-81 of the Mississippi Code Annotated (1972) as amended. Published by order of the Board of Education of the Lincoln County School District.
