PUBLIC NOTICE
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROADS IN LINCOLN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors will consider the closure of all or portions of certain county roads located in Lincoln County, Mississippi. The closures are being proposed for the purpose of road abandonment due to lack of public use.
The proposed closures are being considered for the following roads and/or portions of roads:
Brookway Boulevard Extension NW – located in Section 27 , Township 7 N, Range 7 E
Edward Welch Lane SE– located in Section 31, Township 5 N, Range 9 E
Ernest Thompson Road – located in Section 8, Township 5 N, Range 9 E
Kalil Trail NW – located in Section 15, Township 7 N, Range 8 E
Longwayte Lane SW– located in Section 21, Township 6 N, Range 7 E
Meadow Lane NE– located in Section 5, Township 8 N, Range 8 E
Oberschmidt Trail NE– located in Section 36, Township 8 N, Range 8 E
Port Barry Ln NE from Bahalia to Beard– located in Sections 5,8,9, Township 8 N, Range 9E
Ricks Lane SE– located in Section 26, Township 6 N, Range 9 E
Russ Anna Lane SE– located in Section 13 , Township 6 N, Range 8 E
Someplace Else Lane– located in Section 25, Township 6 N, Range 8 E
Triple B Lane NW– located in Section 16, Township 8 N, Range 7 E
Maps and additional information regarding the proposed road closures are available for review at the Lincoln County Governmental Complex located at 301 South First Street, Brookhaven, Mississippi 39601 during normal business hours.
A public hearing to receive comments regarding the proposed road closures will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, May 18, 2026, immediately following the regularly scheduled meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors. The meeting and public hearing will be held in the Board Meeting Room at the Lincoln County Governmental Complex.
Any interested parties are invited to attend and provide comments regarding the proposed closures.
